2023 Technology Wish List
It’s the holiday season, and the time for gift-giving is upon us! If you’re looking for inspiration for the techies in your life, check out the gadgets the Integrated Building Systems team are interested in this year.
FOR THE MUSIC LOVER
Playing in 3 bands a week – all brass & percussion – can get a bit overwhelming to my ears. Especially in some venues that are close quarters and a very live room. These earplugs would help prevent hearing damage while still letting me hear the music clearly. Jena Evans, Service Coordinator
These would be great not only from a comfort viewpoint, but more importantly, a noise-cancelling stance! I could use these to escape into my own world when I need to concentrate, or to get into my playlist without interfering with others at the office or being a nuisance to my wife at home. Dan Kottenstette, General Manager
CLEAN & COZY
Ember Temperature-Controlled Smart Mug
I love that this mug lets you set the exact temperature of your drink, so it’s never too hot or too cold. I’d keep this at my desk for the morning to keep my coffee warm while I work. Anita Rymer, Account Executive
iRobot Roomba 694 Robot Vacuum
With our old Roomba no longer operating, this is definitely an upgrade to our model which would make life a whole lot easier, especially with two golden retrievers. Dan Kottenstette, General Manager
Especially in the winter, I have a hard time getting up in the morning. The sunrise alarm and soothing sleep sounds seem like a great combination for a better night sleep and an easier start to the day! Emily Chapman, Marketing Manager
OUTDOOR ENTERTAINMENT
Cambridge Soundworks OontZ Upgraded Angle 3 Bluetooth Speaker
This speaker has high-quality sound, a long battery life (14 hours!) and is water-resistant. I think this would be awesome for outdoor use, like for tailgating. Jena Evans, Service Coordinator
I think this outdoor set, complete with speakers and an Amp, would be great for entertaining. It’s weatherproof, and it can play from my preferred streaming service. And it connects to other Sonos systems, so I could have music playing seamlessly inside and out. Dave Hawse, Account Manager
AT-HOME UPGRADES
This year I’m looking for an affordable short throw projector to upgrade our basement home theater. Since we have a lot of ductwork and pipes on the ceiling, mounting a short throw projector close to the screen is our only option. The kids and the parents would both be happy with this new addition! Tim Carlson, Project Manager
Being a parent, musician, and family man my schedule doesn’t allow for too much free time. I often have to prioritize my free time - having an “at home” work out option with the virtual training is exactly what I need to keep myself happy, healthy and whole. David Lindsay-Johnson, Office Manager
WORKFLOW
I’m interested in the reMarkable 2 because it looks and feels more like writing on paper than most tablets. It’s also easy to organize your notes, convert handwritten notes to typed text, and to look at them both on the tablet and transfer them to a PC. I could also use it to write directly on PDF files. Brianna Burton, Client Relationship Manager
SideTrak Slide Portable Monitor
This is an easy way to create the dual-monitor feel from my desk when I’m on the go! At only about 1 lb, it’s lightweight and would safely attach to my laptop. Emily Chapman, Marketing Manager
