DOWNTOWN SKYLINE DRAWS NATIONAL DESIGN FIRM TO THE PENINSULA

In 2022, nationally recognized civil engineering and architecture design firm Burgess & Niple (B&N) moved to The Peninsula. This multi-use development, spearheaded by the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation, is located on the Scioto Peninsula. This move marked a return to B&N’s downtown area roots: its office on East Broad Street was established a century ago. The Peninsula is also close to several B&N landmark projects, like Rich Street Bridge and the Franklinton Floodwall.

Burgess & Niple chose Integrated Building Systems as their partner for technology design and integration. B&N had some existing equipment from their previous office that they wanted to reuse. However, they also wanted to work with Integrated Building Systems to find solutions to make their new space more user friendly, especially for “bring your own device” meetings.

After listening to Burgess & Niple's needs, and what worked for them at their previous office (and what did not), Integrated Building Systems designed their cabling infrastructure and A/V systems. These solutions incorporated existing equipment, while expanding capability and fitting the needs of the new office.

Everyone was thrilled with the new AV spaces, and everything just worked on the first day. In the current work-from-home climate, I have found that the new space and equipment actually encourages people to come into the office because it’s so much easier to collaborate.
